A few weeks ago, the breaking news in the TVs are surely heart-breaking. A woman named Prita imprisoned for her complaining e-mail about an international hospital (I won't tell you which hospital, since it could lead me being the second victim). Well, the complete chronology is:
1. Prita wrote an e-mail complaining about several things including being an experimental medication subject, bad services, etc. At 7th August 2008, man.
2. She sent it to a mailing list.
3. The word suddenly spreaded.
4. The hospital group got their hands on one of the forwarded mail.
5. Insulted, the hospital group brought this problem to the court.
6. By the 13th May 2009, Pritha stayed in the jail, even though the court hadn't processed the problem, yet.
7. Pritha was suspected for breaking Chapter 27, verse (3) about Information and Electronic Transaction, thanks to her mail. The court will start today (4th July 2009)
I say, not the best decision ever... and the guilt isn't Prita's, it IS supposed to be the one who gave the mail for public's consumption. Anyway, if the news is wrong, why didn't the hospital make a press conference, or at least keep silent? Bringing a problem worldwide (or at least at the local cafetaria) is the best way for bring your reputation straight the hell.
That's first.
Second.
It's a mail intended "for this mailing list only". Unless you post it at the newspaper or print it into posters and place it all over the town, they can't blame you. And for your information, I swear I can hear sweet jingle of money behind this. A lot of people have the same idea with me, I can say.
So?
FREEDOM TO EXPRESS!
FREEDOM FOR PRITA!
P.S : You can see the original mail here, but i think you'll need a translator or at least an Indonesian - English dictionary.
